| Hi! I am known on Ebay as Pulpsguy. Below you
will find my conservative grading standards. My goal is to describe items
so well that you know exactly what you are buying.
Condition is extremely important to many who collect SF material. Therefore,
I grade carefully, being conservative when in doubt. Several principles are
fundamental to grading. One is that age
is not a factor in grading. Good for it's
age is not a meaningful phrase as age is not a factor in grading since all
magazines are held to the same standards. There are just not as many older
magazines in the higher grades.

A magazine graded Fine dated 1925 should look exactly like one dated 1955.
A possible exception may be made for the condition of the interior paper. I
will usually grade the covers, front and back, and then give a separate
assessment of the interior. It is rare to find any magazine over 60 years
old that does not have some browning of the pages. What one must be on the
lookout for is magazines where the pages have become brittle.
That magazine is not long for this planet
